The nose is an important organ and prominent part of the face. Having a well-proportioned nose between the span of the nostrils and the nose ridge are the nose structure most Asian people desire, nose implant and reduction are the common surgery for Asian people, which differentiate them from the Western people. The procedure of rhinoplasty and alarplasty is not complicated and can be done at the same time. Before the surgery, the surgeon will inquire what the patient want, history of illness, medications currently taking, discuss the propose appearance and advise from the surgeon what shape will best suit the nose structure to match the facial feature. The patient can
select on the surgery be it alar reduction, nose implant, or both.


Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty ose implant is a surgical procedure to enhance the shape and structure to be more prominent. The surgery have been done for 10 years now, people with flat noses and would like to change the structure can undergo the surgery at the age of more than 16 years.

Soft silicone
 Body tissue, such as bone and cartilage (rarely use at present)


Alarplasty
Is the reduction of the span of the nostrils to match the above portion of the nose, for a prominent structure.

Proceduce
The surgeon will give you a sleeping pill to make you sleep and reduce stress. The procedure is to insert the especially curve silicone on the nose ridge, the length of incision is approximately 1 cm. on the sides of the nostril, one side or two sides incisions depends on the surgeon'sskill and technique. The doctor will make the pocket inside the nose ridge under the nose tissue cartilage to insert the prepared silicone and check carefully if properly in place. There will be approximately 3 stitches on the incision, place an external splint on nose; this depends on doctor's decision to prevent and reduce swelling. For alarplasty, the doctor will cut the suitable skin tissue out and revise the base of nose in proportion with the set width of nostril at the same time.

The procedure is just 30-45 minutes then recuperates at the recovery room after the surgery for approximately one hour with cold compress or until the patient had fully recover from the side effects of the medications. The patient can go home and return for a follow up check and removal of the stitches 5-7 days after the surgery (in case where there are stitches to be remove).
